2025 will be full of incredible storylines and memorable moments, but how does The Boss vow to make 2025 his year??
If I had a nickel for every time, I said “New Year, New Boss“ I would have enough capital to lease out office space and begin the official rise of Big Screen Sports.
Yet, here I sit, finally putting my money where my mouth is. Officially putting this all in writing for the world to see. This is where Big Screen Sports goes up and to the right until we hit the moon. 📈🌖
So what is more fitting than a nice sports New Year’s resolutions list from yours truly, The Boss??
Here are some things that I vow to our Big Screen Sports Fans that I will look to accomplish in a 2025 sporting calendar.
Take the next step to “die hard fandom“ for our Edmonton Oilers
I certainly can’t sit here and type away that I have diehard fandom status, even though I love sports and live in the city of Edmonton. I will respectfully put my fandom status at the “medium” stage of my life, as I lack the knowledge and consistency that many of our true blue and orange fans have to this day. Yes, I attended game six of the Stanley Cup final at Rogers Place and without a doubt it was my best sports memory ever. Yet, I know there’s more work to be done to be among the cities best and greatest fans that we proudly own distinguish from the other NHL franchises.
I look forward to this resolution more than any other, as I know, you cannot be a sports fan without developing “diehard fandom status” for your hometown professional sports team.
We had lots of great Oilers playoff content this year, but look forward to take a whole new step with new, incredible Oilers Big Screen Sports content.
Clean slate with Kyler Murray
This one is a really tough one for me, because all of our OG Big Screen Sports followers know how much I HATE Kyler Murray.
I mean, this level of hate can only be described to true sports fans who know the pain and suffering that many players, coaches, and teams overall have done to them in their lifetime of rooting for them.
When the Arizona Cardinals gave Kyler Murray a $230 million contract, but put a clause in the contract that said “Kyler must spend four hours a week, studying film without the distraction of television or video games“, I wanted to throw up. So much so that I was (and have) contemplated quitting on the Cardinals. That’s how embarrassed I was.
Now I’m gonna be the bigger person here (yes, that was a Kyler Murray short joke) and I’m going to try and forgive Kyler Murray, as well as Arizona Cardinals organization for that contract and embarrassment I went through from 2022 to today. One more week, one more game left of this season and then it’s onto the off-season, the draft, and training camp in August, for a brand new year and a brand new (hopefully) exciting year of Cardinals football.
Have 4 games on my TV at all times
I have officially mastered the art of multi-sport event watching on my 70" TV in my bachelor apartment. Gone like the dodo bird, the “previous/last“ button on my remote is now obsolete due to my incredible four game set up.
I will become Harry Potter with a wand in terms of working my wireless mouse which is connected to my laptop which is connected via Bluetooth to my television, and able to work the sound of the four games as each game goes into commercial/intermissions.
Aside from the creation of self driving vehicles, this technological advancement of four games on one TV will be remembered forever and catalogued in the year 2025.
1 piece of BSS content every day
There’s nothing I love more than sharing my thoughts, opinions, and sense of humour with all of our Big Screen Sports fans through the joys of sports. Now it is my turn to return the favour even more so with the idea of a minimum of one piece of BSS content every single day in the year 2025.
Sure, between work, family, and other things it may be difficult, but not for The Boss.
Whether it be a blog, social media video, podcast, or live event, you will be getting more Big Screen Sports this 2025 season. I promise you that.
And if you have any ideas or suggestions on the content, we should do, the sports we should talk about, or the topics to talk about, COMMENT BELOW!!!
1-2 marquee Sports Watch Parties
Thanks to our friends at 1ST RND, we had another successful year of sports watch parties for Sunday night football of the NFL season. Can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done for us and we can’t think our BSS sports fans and followers enough that were able to attend one of these events this past season.
With that being said, we’re going to slightly change course and change it from Sunday Night Football every Sunday night, to 1-2 bigger, better sports watch parties with other sports involved.
For example, we did an Oilers and UFC combined watch party that was a HUGE hit. Between certain events like the Super Bowl, the Masters, and even funny things like the Kentucky Derby, we will etch our name in the history books in 2025 as the best sports watch party Business in the city of Edmonton!!!
60% or better gambler
Yeah, this one is just a throw in for myself personally, but I want to be a better sports gambler.
I wanna be able to give the fans that follow Big Screen Sports best bets, and fun bets to route for that make you money. Like I will put in the time to bring you more content, I will put in the time to research these picks, do my homework (not like Kyler and his playbook), and bring you only winners this 2025.
If you have a sports New Year’s resolution, you wanna share please go ahead and comment below as maybe the boss will join you on your resolution to a better sports 2025
